Perched in paradise, Sundays the new restaurant by acclaimed chef Josh Niland brings a fresh perspective to island dining. Designed by Carrie Williams and completed by Hamilton Island Enterprises, the space embraces its natural surroundings with materials that echo the environment.
The ceiling features House of Bamboo’s Symphony Series in Cello 11 and Cello 8 engineered bamboo cladding chosen not only for its clean lines, durability, and refined natural tone, but also for its outstanding sustainability credentials. As a rapidly renewable resource, bamboo sequesters carbon and regenerates without replanting, making it a natural fit for environmentally conscious design.
Finishing touches were completed with bamboo lumber trims, seamlessly tying the design together and reinforcing the commitment to both beauty and sustainability.
This project exemplifies how bamboo once seen as just a pole can elevate architectural design in high-end coastal environments. Both functional and aesthetic, it adds a layer of calm sophistication that complements the relaxed luxury of Hamilton Island.
