Nestled on the shores of Botany Bay, in Sydney’s south, Georges River Sailing Club underwent a contemporary renovation to complement its coastal surroundings.
In collaboration with Loucas Architects, House of Bamboo was involved in the meticulous planning, engineering and installation of seven supersized ceiling panels and 24 bespoke operable acoustic door panels.
With a brief to achieve aesthetically sophisticated and highly functional outcomes, our team of experts delivered a contemporary and sustainable solution. Engineered bamboo was used to frame the ceiling panels, chosen for its durability, environmental properties and refined appearance. The panels were then enhanced with a rattan weave, adding texture and warmth to the space.
The acoustic door panels were manufactured as part of the Dormakaba system. The design required a combination of aesthetics and acoustic performance to seamlessly integrate with the overall architectural vision.
The complexities of the project meant that our team’s skills in design and innovation were a key contributor to its success. With the ability to deliver unique, bespoke solutions, this project exemplifies the synergy between architectural requirements, material innovation and precise execution.
