Mollymook Residence

A personal project, the beach house of one of Inn Studios co-founders. What was once a very small brick beach house had undergone an extension more than twenty years ago to become a three-bedroom home. With good internal proportions, north facing aspect and a rolling lawn down onto a tree-lined reserve, it was the perfect canvas to create a sanctuary for a young family. The interior and exterior were incredibly outdated, but a complete cosmetic overhaul and full kitchen and bathroom reconfiguration, alongside new fittings and fixtures throughout saw the home transform into a beachside oasis. The prerequisite for each space was to evoke a sense of calm and relaxation, an escape from the city life. Furniture, art and object were an amalgamation of new and old collected over the years.
