Our Story
Our story begins in 1972.
Mark Snyders started importing natural products from Southeast Asia as a hobby, recognizing their suitability for the Australian climate and lifestyle. A true visionary, Mark sourced these products from small villages, aiding in their development into self-sufficient communities.
Continuing the Vision: Jennifer Snyders, A Leader in Sustainability
Following her studies in architecture, Jennifer Snyders, Mark’s daughter, saw the untapped potential of bamboo as a transformative resource for the building industry. Joining the business, she propelled House of Bamboo® into an era of innovation, establishing it as a pivotal player in the industry. Today, as CEO, Jennifer continues to expand the boundaries of bamboo’s application, championing the principles of a circular economy and advocating for bamboo as the new sustainable timber alternative.
