Set within Sydney’s inner city, this award-winning courtyard redefines compact terrace living with just 27 square metres of space. Inspired by Japanese design, the contemporary outdoor retreat combines elegance, privacy, and sensory delight.
House of Bamboo’s SeaChange Series battens, in Black Torquay, Noosa Natural, and Black finishes, frame the courtyard with architectural precision, creating a striking contrast to the lush planting palette. Vertical mirrors and bespoke black metal troughs expand light and space, reflecting seasonal textures from clipped Buxus japonica to the vibrant foliage of a Japanese Maple.
Designed by Vogue & Vine, brought to life by SDL Creations and captured by Jack Hibbert Photography, the project was honoured with the 2025 National LDI Award Gold for Landscape Design recognised for its ability to blend natural textures, refined detailing, and urban liveability in perfect harmony.
