Revolutionary bamboo acoustic solutions that solve noise pollution without compromising design aesthetics. Opera panels deliver superior sound absorption whilst adding natural warmth and texture to any space – from corporate boardrooms to outdoor amphitheatres. The range is Fire Class Group 3 and GreenTag certifed
Opera is our engineered bamboo acoustic cladding range, built to manage sound in spaces that also need to look good, such as corporate boardrooms, offices, restaurants, auditoriums and even outdoor amphitheatres. The range spans four profiles, Opera I, 3, 5 and 6, each available in raw, natural, teak and black finishes, so acoustic performance doesn't come at the cost of design flexibility. Panels carry Class 1 durability and a Class 3 fire rating, and the range is sustainably sourced.
Opera is House of Bamboo's acoustic cladding system, engineered specifically for noise control rather than screening or privacy. It's made from laminated engineered bamboo, using laminated bamboo construction, and comes in four profiles: Opera I, a perforated baseline panel; Opera 3, a fluted, channelled profile similar in appearance to the Cello range; Opera 5, a flat-faced panel with fine micro-perforations for a minimalist look; and Opera 6, a bolder profile with wider perforations for a more visually prominent feature finish.
Each profile is available with an optional acoustic backing, reaching an NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) of up to 0.73.

The Opera Series is designed for spaces where reverberation and echo need to be managed without losing warmth or design quality. That includes conference rooms, auditoriums, studios and open-plan offices, as well as hospitality and educational fitouts where acoustic comfort matters. Opera 3's fluted profile suits concert halls and educational facilities where a stronger architectural texture is wanted, while Opera 5's flat, micro-perforated face suits minimalist interiors that still need acoustic control, and Opera 6 works well where the panel itself is meant to read as a feature rather than a backdrop.

The Opera Series carries a Group 3 fire rating and Class E1 indoor emissions rating, and the panels are free of tannins and VOCs. It's certified to Global GreenTag GreenRate Level A and HealthRate Platinum, and is documented to contribute credits toward Green Star, IS Rating, LEED v4.0/v4.1 and WELL, which covers most of the certification pathways architects and specifiers need for commercial and institutional projects.

Opera panels are supplied pre-engineered and pre-treated, ready for installation. Panels are pre-treated to accept paint finishes or natural oils on site and are available in WOCA water-based oil finishes (Raw Natural, Teak or Black) as standard, or we can do a bespoke stain with Vernites Italian tintometric finishes, offering 26 further colours and a range of gloss levels. Exact panel dimensions and fixing details are set out in the product drawings and data sheet for each profile. We supply Opera panels Australia-wide, direct to site, for both commercial and residential projects.

As with the rest of the House of Bamboo range, this supports a lower embodied carbon profile than hardwood equivalents, given bamboo's 3 to 5 year growth cycle, while still meeting the fire, emissions and durability benchmarks expected of a commercial acoustic product.

Most acoustic panel systems on the market are built from foam, PET felt or mineral fibre with a fabric or perforated timber-look facing over the top. Opera flips that: the sound-managing surface is genuinely engineered bamboo, so you get the acoustic function and the natural material finish in one product, rather than a synthetic acoustic core dressed up to look like timber. That means less visual compromise for architects trying to balance acoustic performance with a natural material brief.
